Mostaccioli

 

 

½ (1-pound) package Mostaccioli or Penne pasta, cooked as package directs

½ pound lean ground sirloin

½ pound Italian sausage (mild or hot)

1 (26-ounce) jar Classico Spicy Tomato & Pesto Pasta Sauce (or other flavored sauce of choice)

1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce

1 small can tomato paste

1 (15-ounce) container Ricotta Cheese

8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese, shredded and divided (2 cups)

¼ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

1 egg

 

·         Preheat oven to 350º

·         In saucepan, over medium heat, cook ground sirloin until browned; pour off fat. Add pasta sauce, tomato sauce and tomato paste, heat through

·         In medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and egg.

·         In lightly grease 2½quart baking dish, layer pasta, sauce mixture and cheese mixture. Repeat layers. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over top

·         Bake 35-40 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
