Diana’s Beef Stew



2-3 lbs stew beef                                                                  Seasoning to taste:

½ cup flour

3 T. shortening                                                                                     Thyme

3 cups vegetable juice                                                                         Parsley

1 tsp bouillon, dissolved in ½ cup water                                         Oregano

4 medium potatoes, cubed                                                                  Basil

1-1/2 cups celery, diced                                                                      Salt

1-1/2 cups baby carrots                                                                      Pepper

1 pkg frozen pearl onions

1 pkg whole mushrooms

2 cloves garlic, minced


Coat beef cubes in flour and brown in shortening.  Add beef and remaining ingredients to crock pot.  Season to taste.  Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
